“As my confidence in the role grew, so did our approach — we started pushing boundaries: introducing more colour, more modern shapes, and more powerful, characterful looks. ”

Describe your experience working with Henry in three words.
M.Z.

Transformational, Uplifting, Creative.

How has your wardrobe evolved since working with a stylist?
M.Z.

My wardrobe has completely transformed since I began working with Henry. I first approached him after getting a major promotion at work but feeling that my wardrobe didn’t reflect the seniority of my new role. I was still dressing in the same brands I’d worn since I was 25 and had no time to research new options.

In the beginning, our sessions were about aligning my clothes with the expectations of the role — presenting myself in a beautiful and timeless way, while still feeling like me. As my confidence in the role grew, so did our approach — we started pushing boundaries: introducing more colour, more modern shapes, and more powerful, characterful looks.

What I love is that this evolution has always been grounded in me, never a one-size-fits-all approach. Henry is incredibly attuned to who I am and what I want to express which I love.

Can you share a favourite purchase or outfit combination?
M.Z.

So many! Lately, we’ve added several beautifully tailored power suits from Gabriela Hearst and McQueen. I’ve always leaned toward more feminine styles and avoided suits, worrying they’d feel too masculine or not fit naturally into my wardrobe. But what Henry found are on another level, nothing I could have imagined.— they are striking, elegant, and very me.

He’s also put together combinations that make my mornings so much easier — I don’t stand in front of my wardrobe feeling lost anymore. Instead, I have a bank of outfits that feel fresh, considered, and perfectly right for the day ahead.

Looking back, how has investing in your wardrobe supported your professional growth over time?
M.Z.

It sounds silly, because confidence theoretically comes from within — but I am a petite woman in a male-dominated field. I do many big presentations, board meetings, high-level investor meetings. I have to own a room full of men, despite being a soft-spoken woman.

Half of the work is the content I bring to the table, but I truly believe the other half is presence, confidence and how you carry yourself. Having a wardrobe that’s original, refined, and powerful, It’s such a quiet but impactful tool.

Have there been any benefits you’ve realised since we started working together that you didn’t foresee? M.Z.

I didn’t anticipate how creative and enjoyable the whole process would be, or how much of me would come through it. I think there’s a stereotype about what women in senior positions “should” wear, and I worried I’d end up fitting a mould. That hasn’t happened at all. I feel like my personality has led the way, and the confidence I’ve gained has grown alongside that.

What’s the most noticable difference in how you feel about your appearance since we started working together?
M.Z.

It’s especially noticeable at large events or panels where I’m often the only woman on stage. In the past, I felt I had to spend a lot of time at the beginning proving I belonged — overcoming unconscious bias, really. “Who’s this little girl and what does she know?”

Now, my wardrobe does that work for me. I just look like I own the room but in my own way which is one of the things I appreciate the most given how few women there are in my position.

Having worked with Henry for a while now, do you have any other feedback or experience you’d like to share that you think a new client should know?
M.Z.

Working with Henry is an evolution — not just of your wardrobe, but of yourself. I’d say don’t stop at the first shop. That first experience was transformational and I still wear and love all the pieces, but it’s the ongoing process — the self-discovery, the creativity, the confidence-building — that’s been the most rewarding part.
